A Brief History of CRC
In the 1970s, a group of women, in order to get together and socialize, organized a sewing and craft club. From this group evolved a community organization they called Rio Verde Arts and Crafts, dedicated to the betterment of the lives of all those living in Rio Verde. The first officers were Ruth Hosfield, president, and Joyce Laufer, treasurer. This group was responsible for community-wide social activities and events in Rio Verde.
With limited facilities and finances, they organized the first bake and craft sales. With these funds they provided needed equipment for the newly formed Country Club and the Community Association. They started many of the services CRC now provides.
As community activity increased, the need for a new name became apparent, and in 1997 the name was officially changed to Rio Verde Community Relations Committee. The CRC has continued to evolve with new programs and services.
Volunteer Involvement
The CRC activities would not be as successful as it is today without the volunteer efforts of its Rio Verde residents, and welcomes your help and participation. The CRC informational pamphlet and current contact information for board and committee members are also available at the Community Center reception desk and web site (
www.rioverdehoa.org).
Activities and Services provided by the CRC
CRC services and activities are reviewed annually and the program and calendar for the upcoming year is set.
