The Rio Verde Saddle Club is a member-owned, non-profit association that was established in 1979 to provide facilities and full-time care for members horses. Located at Rio Verde Ranch near the riverside picnic area, the clubs facilities include a fourteen-stall barn, pens, exercise paddocks, a tack and feed storage shed and a riding/exercise arena.
Members must be residential property owners in Rio Verde, Tonto Verde, or Vista Verde. The club contracts with an experienced wrangler for feeding, cleaning and general care of the horses and maintenance of the facilities. An area is also made available for the wranglers on-premise living quarters. The riding season opens early in November and extends until early May with individual members providing for care for their horses elsewhere during the summer months. A limited number of memberships are available.
